Subic is a municipality in the province of Zambales, located along the northern coast of Subic Bay in the Philippines. According to the census of May 2010, it has a population of 89,724 and a 1st class Income classification. Like Iba, the provincial capital, and neighboring Olongapo City, Subic is also a fast growing municipality and expected to become a component city. It is a former home of one of the largest US military facilities outside of the US mainland, the Subic Bay The town's early name is "Hubek" among the native inhabitants of the area - the Zambales - which means "head of a plow". The missionary fathers mispronounced "Hubek" as "Subiq". By the time of the American occupation of Subic, the Yankees mispronounced "Subiq" into "Subig". Eventually, "Subig" reverted back to "Subiq", but the letter 'q' was replaced with letter 'c', hence the name "Subic". How to commute going to Subic
Places to Visit in SubicOcean AdventureWhat to watch and expect...................
1st show: Balancing Act
2nd show: Dolphin ShowAfter the first show, we proceeded to the next venue for the dolphin show. It was pretty cool, with lots of information and side story about dolphins! I love the guy who served as the emcee and narrator of the show. He sounded like a native english speaker, I love the accent and the diction though he looks so PINOY! I was seated near the upper bleacher so my shots were very far, but at least I was able to capture those magnificent sea mammals. 3rd show: Walk in the Wild! (Hope I got the title right!)The next thing that they presented were the different animals that we can see in the wild. The thrilling part there was when they announced that the snake was missing. It was inside a black bag. Surprisingly, that bag that they were referring was just under the seat of a lady near to me...... woo! I thought they secretly put in inside mine! The show was also full of information as a whole and there's really a close encounter with these animals. 4th Show: Sea Lion ShowI really enjoyed watching this show! Love it! ;-) Roaming around the area! After the 4 shows, I started roaming around the place. Do not forget to visit the aquarium museum and of course the souvenir shop.
